Best Sunset | Hermit Beach in Panglao, Island
As I walk you through my new blog on Panglao Island, I would like to remind you again how beautiful Bohol Island is. In my previous blog about Bohol, I mentioned that Bohol is one of our greatest “Gem” when it comes to famous tourist destinations here in the Philippines. Bohol is and will be one of my favorite “go-to” islands in any season. On the other hand, there is another municipality in Bohol that is also known for its diving locations and tourist resorts.
Panglao, Island
Panglao Island or “Bayan ng Panglao” is a 4th class municipality in the province of Bohol. There are amazing beach resorts in a stretch of this island. If you are one of the tourists who is looking for a calm and relaxing place, Panglao is one of the best islands I would definitely recommend you to visit.
The Best Sunset Hermit Beach: it was a fine afternoon when we discovered this beautiful paradise located on one of the beaches in Panglao Island. For us, it is clearly one of the most underrated beaches on the island that has crystal clear water and the best view of the Sunset Silhouette you will ever see.
I don’t merely remember when exactly or how old I was when I found out that I am an “Opacarophile” or what we call a “Lover of Sunsets” person. All I know is that I love sunsets and my heart will live with it forever.
The Best Sunset Hermit Beach doesn’t have an entrance fee. Yes, you heard it right! No entrance fee. You can even bring your own food, and wood for a campfire. If you are planning to have a picnic, or food trip with friends, take pictures & videos, and just savor the moment of the golden hour, you can.
A Friendly Reminder: “No Entrance Fee” means it’s free, it makes us happy and the term itself is very catchy, right?—but, please, please, do not abuse or take advantage of the context “FREE”. Even if there is NO FEE for the entrance, as a tourist, we still have to keep in mind to take good care of our surroundings and have proper disposal of the garbage when we’re at the beach (or anywhere we go). In that way, we can help the sustainability and the beauty of our nature.
I never thought my camera would witness and capture such a golden beauty in front of me! Yeah, I know it may sound crazy, but sometimes, I get teary-eyed when I see beautiful things around me. (Pardon me for being emotional) but I will always be in awe and very grateful to our creator for allowing me to see this world and making me realize how blessed I am. Let’s always appreciate life and learn to be contented with what’s on our plate at the moment. This year, I’ve also learned that it’s not bad to take a break and breathe, take a vacation, and disconnect yourself from stressful things.

How to get to The Best Sunset Hermit Beach?
If you are a tourist and already in Panglao, you can use or rent a motorbike or commute a ride to get to The Best Sunset Hermit Beach. If you already have a car or motorbike then it’s good for you because there’s no need for you to rent. Panglao is pretty expensive if you commute (from our own experience) so I suggest that if you can or are able, just rent a motorbike for a day so you can spend less.. in that way, you can have more time to roam around the island without rushing and paying more or less $6-$9 / Php300-Php400 (for1 ride only!) by commuting. But, of course, if you can afford to pay that much, then no problem. It’s worth a try anyway!
